'De Onbespeelbare Harp' (The unplayable Harp) is a story with music for multi-level harp ensemble.
The books are in the Dutch language.
“De Onbespeelbare Harp” is about an emperor who has a harp made from an ancient tree. However, when the tree is cut down, a red dragon is awakened and flies away. Once the harp is finished, the finest players of the empire are invited to play it, but no one succeeds in making it sound. Until one day, a man in a red cloak appears...
The music is written for harp ensemble/orchestra, percussion (vibraphone, tam-tam, and snare drum), and of course a narrator is essential. There are parts at three levels, sometimes with further subdivisions within each group. A separate percussion part is also available. All parts are suitable for both lever harp and pedal harp.
A slideshow with illustrations is also available upon request.
