In the rolling hills of Limburg lies the lovely little town of Thorn. Its beautiful white houses line old, winding streets and alleyways. It is a delight to stroll through and muse on its fascinating history of more than 1,000 years. Thorn was once an independent little state, where a princess-abbess held the sceptre and noble canonesses had the final say. The tiny state even minted its own coins and had its own legal system.
While walking and reflecting on the history of the white town, music began to bubble up, and these pieces found their way into the book “The White Town of Thorn”.
